Success of the Warm Gifts Across Borders Project

The Warm Gifts Across Borders Project was a truly inspiring and successful effort to bring warmth and comfort to those in need. The project involved collecting donations of clothing from individuals in Norway, and then transporting and distributing these donations to those in need in Lebanon. Through the hard work and dedication of our team and the generosity of those who donated, we were able to make a tangible difference in the lives of those who received the donations.

Collecting Donations in Norway

The team in Norway played a crucial role in the success of the Warm Gifts Across Borders Project. They were passionate about making a difference in the lives of those in need and worked tirelessly to gather as many donations as possible.

The team reached out to their local community to collect donations, spreading the word about the project and the need for assistance. They set up donation stations at various locations, including UWC RCN school and local centers, and worked to engage with as many people as possible. They explained the importance of the project and how each person's contribution could make a real difference, and they were met with an overwhelming response.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the team in Norway, we were able to collect an impressive 70 kgs of donated clothing – a truly remarkable achievement. The team should be incredibly proud of the work they did, and their efforts have surely made a positive impact on the lives of those in Lebanon who received the donated clothes.

Distributing Donations in Lebanon

Once the donated clothes arrived in Lebanon, the team quickly cleaned and sorted them, packing them into more than 45 bags, each bag included three pieces of clothing. These bags were then distributed in Nahr El Bared refugee camp to those in need in two main ways.

The first distribution method involved inviting specific individuals to a hall where they were able to choose from the selection of clothes that had been provided. This allowed for a more personalized and dignified experience for those receiving the donations. The team worked to ensure that there was a good selection of sizes and styles available, and they provided assistance to those who needed help choosing the right items.

The second distribution method involved volunteers going directly to the homes of people in need, bringing the bags of clothes with them. This allowed us to reach even more people and bring warmth and comfort to those who may not have been able to come to the hall for various reasons. Our volunteers were warm and compassionate, taking the time to listen to the needs and stories of those they were helping. They provided not only clothing but also a sense of connection and support.

Overall, the distribution of the donated clothes in Lebanon was a huge success. The team worked diligently to ensure that as many people as possible received the help they needed, and they made a real difference in the lives of those they served.

Their first mission, called "Warm Gifts Across Borders," involves collecting winter clothing to send to a refugee camp in Lebanon. The team has faced challenges in finding funding, but has been successful in collecting a significant amount of clothing to send to the camp. Do Not Forget is also planning to apply to the Go Make a Difference project, which helps fund projects that make a positive impact on the community.

You can contribute too! Refugees in the Lebanese camps also get cold. So check your closet for clothing items you do not need or use anymore and send them to us. Or donate on the website so we can send them the clothes. We are grateful, and so are they.
